We are delighted to offer this extraordinary 1972 Vanden Plas Princess 1300, showing just 853 miles from new and presented in truly exceptional, concours condition.

Originally supplied new by Marshall’s of Peterborough to Mr D. A. Leach in 1972, the car has an unusually fascinating history. Mr Leach sadly passed away shortly after taking delivery, before he had the opportunity to properly enjoy his new Princess. As a result, the car was placed into storage and remained virtually untouched for many years, retaining its remarkable delivery mileage.

It remained within the Leach family until 2010, when it was finally sold — having spent decades preserved rather than used. The history accompanying the car documents its remarkable early life, including its pre-delivery inspection at just 44 miles.

The current keeper subsequently acquired the Princess and commissioned a comprehensive nut-and-bolt refresh, bringing the car to the exceptional standard it presents today while retaining its originality and character.

The result is quite extraordinary. The body-coloured underside is immaculate, the interior is beautifully preserved, and the rear seats have never been sat in. Even the original factory tool kit remains sealed and untouched, exactly as it left the dealer.

Kept in a dehumidified indoor garage, the Princess has been meticulously preserved and has since enjoyed considerable success on the show circuit, winning multiple awards and trophies.
